Our Club

Tribellius MMA/Grappling club was founded in June 2018 as a place for coaching and supporting participants to develop their combat skills, as well as physical and mental abilities.

Named after the ancient Bulgarian Warrior King – Saint King Tribellius, our honorable club is a product of an extensive combat experience in and knowledge of various martial arts (SAMBO, Boxing, Wrestling and Karate). Tribellius was developed with dedicated work (in coaching, creativity and management), with devotion and Love. Love towards each other, the sport, the righteousness, the hardship during training sessions - all of which create strong, pure and noble relationships among virtuous persons. Last but not least, Love towards the apparent results (visible by the coach and experienced by the fighter) which is based on a proper teaching of the combat sport, and eagerness to learn and develop.

Tribellius MMA/Grappling is just a tiny part of what you read above. If you feel the urge to explore more, please do not hesitate to reach, visit and experience our trainings, support and appreciation!

Tribellius MMA/Grappling's Management Team

 Our Instructors

Tribellius' main instructor is Levter Davidkov, a man with more than 27 years of experience in combat sports and more than 8 years of experience as a coach. He comes from a Bulgarian family with broad background in Karate and sport in general.

Levter started his sport career at an early age, competing in various national competitions: he won two GOLD medals in the 2003 SAMBO and in the 2009 Combat-SAMBO championships of Bulgaria; he was also three-time SILVER champion in 2001 and 2002 Bulgarian SAMBO championship and in 2004 JUDO team championship. In his teenage and student years, he built solid professional experience working as a bouncer and a private security guard. In 2013, he came to the Netherlands (Maastricht) to obtain his second Master's degree in Law.

In the present times, Levter does not compete, but finds satisfaction in passing his knowledge and experience to his students. He believes that love, patience, understanding and persistence are the pillars in the relationship between his students and himself.

For a coach with a genuine and professional mind-set, there is no greater satisfaction than to see his students developing not only in terms of fighting skills, but also amplifying their qualities of integrity, goodness and nobility!

Abdelmonïm Tacheu (Appie) has been part of Tribellius MMA/Grappling for almost half a decade. At the age of 43, he is our oldest student, but one of our most devoted and passionate competitors!

After taking a try-out class for the first time at Tribellius, Appie immediately fell in love with the sport of MMA. Despite having a background in boxing, he was especially intrigued by the grappling aspect of the sport, or as Appie likes to call it: "human chess with limbs".

With persistence and devotion to his trainings, Appie gained immediate success at his first tournament, resulting in an even bigger motivation to train to achieve progress and results. Earning himself the nickname "The Predator" from his coach, Appie continues his pursuit for experience as well as his hunt for medals.

Always eager to help others by sharing his knowledge, he has happily agreed to become an instructor at our club.

If there's magic in fighting, it's the magic of fighting battles beyond endurance, beyond pain and beyond injuries. It's the magic of risking everything for a dream that nobody sees but you!

Mees van der Laan has become an instructor at Tribellius MMA/Grappling, after himself being a devoted member at our club for nearly three years! Originally from the Netherlands, Mees has quite an international background, spending parts of his life in England and Switzerland. He is very enthusiastic about sports and has experienced most of the major sports out there.

What caught his attention in MMA was the power dynamics and intricacies of techniques. Mees quickly fell in love with the sport and made it his life's ambition to develop an encyclopedic knowledge of combat sports in general! Now, he enjoys sharing these skills and principles with others and we are very happy to have him on board of our team!

With his stern look and his dark-shaded sunglasses, Mees is the “RoboCop” of Tribellius!

To say that joining Tribellius has changed my life would be an understatement. The skills and principles instilled in me by Levter and the team will stay with me for the rest of my life: Tribellius has taught me to focus my rage and control my fears, to fight with honor and integrity instead of anger and ego!
